  Waves

Solutions of the wave equation are animated in the graphing window. The d'Alembert solution is
u(x,t) = f(x-ct) + g(x+ct) . Use the three buttons to toggle display of f(x-ct) (in red, moving right), g(x+ct) (in green, moving left), and the sum (in yellow).

Grab the [t] slider to select the time, or animate the wave using the [>>] key.

The right moving waveform is fixed as f(x) , but the left moving wave form is of the form g(x) = A sin(ωx). Adjust the parameters A and ω using the sliders at bottom, and adjust the speed c using the slider at lower right.

Roll the mouse over the graphing window to create crosshairs and a readout of values of t and x.
